Social Power Hour Kicks Off 2018 Event Season with Chef Battle on May 1

Social Power Hour announces its expansion to San Diego with its 2018 lineup, which includes a variety of fun, unique events for San Diegans to experience. Social Power Hour events focus on food and beverage that connect locals to themed events and entertainment in one place.

To kick off 2018, Chef Battle takes place at Mission Brewery from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Chefs will battle it out to make the best dish in one hour. Guests will receive live entertainment, samples from the competing chefs, drink tickets for sponsored craft beers provided by Mission Brewery, voting ballot to pick crowd’s favorite.

“San Diego has an amazing food and drink scene, so when we were looking at expanding to other markets, it was an obvious choice to come here,” says Matt Hensler, Director of Events. “We’re excited for this year’s events and continuing to grow in Southern California.”

The award-winning event company is known for its sold-out signature events Say Cheese Fest — the ultimate cheese lover’s paradise, Chef Battle — live cooking competitions and Drink Local — a tasting event with a focus on local distilleries, breweries and wineries. In 2018, Social Power Hour will launch its inaugural Bartender Battle in San Diego, where bartenders will compete to concoct their best cocktails with a mystery box. Vendors, competitors and judges will be announced at later dates.
