Let’s face it, who doesn’t love brunch? It’s the perfect occasion to appropriately indulge in booze and carby delights well before four in the afternoon. Ifit were up to us we would brunch all the time, but for now we’ll settle with the occasional trip to these top ten brunch spots!
Brunch at this restaurant is as festive and fun as its name! When you enter the massive space you are immediately greeted with an array of colors- there are balloons, bright hanging lamps, drawings on the wall, and even a photo booth. If this is too much there’s plenty of quiet seating areas both outside and inside. They put a unique spin on classic dishes, and the restaurant supports the regional farmers and artisans from the Midwest. For savory try the Huevos Rancheros, or a sweet Red Velvet French Toast, enjoy.

If you consider yourself a “bruncher” then do yourself a flavor and visit Tweet. Tweet is the sister restaurant to Big Chicks, and is burrowed within a vintage art deco building. When possible all food is organically prepared, everything is hormone and antibiotic free, and there’s even a gluten-free menu! If you can’t beat the mid-morning rush, hang out by the bar and enjoy some free coffee or the spicy bloody mary’s. Then sit back and relax while you indulge in food obviously prepared with love.

Known for their rustic dishes and extensive international beer list the Publican is not usually what comes to mind when you hear brunch. Don’t write them off just yet, Publican offers Saturday (10:00am-2:00pm) and Sunday brunch (9:00am-2:00pm) that stays true to their homage to beer, pork, and oysters. We suggest getting a “libation” such as the Publican “mimosa” to accompany your oven baked sourdough pancake- complete with bacon wrapped chicken thigh, breakfast sausage, and Burtons maple syrup.

What was once a cottage 25 years ago is now home to Chicago’s best french toast that keeps the regulars coming back for more. Similar to their brunch, the mission behind Inspiration Kitchens is truly remarkable. Through Inspiration Corporation, Chicagoans who have been directly effected by homelessness and poverty gain skills and experience in the food industry, which later allows for employment. Each menu is specifically crafted to be reflective of the two locations- Uptown and Garfield Park. In the Garfield location you can expect to an ever changing menu of traditional American cuisine, and in Uptown the diverse menu ranges from chorizo biscuits and gravy to roasted red pepper wantons.

A Sunday Brunch at Over Easy Cafe is definitely something to look forward to, and here’s why. Everything here is made easy, you just have to show up! The staff/services are both accommodating, the environment is welcoming and friendly, and the stand-out Eggs Benedict, Mexican Specialty, and Special French Toast cary each week. Of course a place such as this may be crowded, but don’t worry there’s free coffee while you wait!

The restaurant’s name pretty much sums up what your brunch taste buds will experience. The food never fails to disappoint. It’s always served quickly, hot and fresh- you’ll want to savor every bite, especially the quiche of the day! Aside from the delectables the space is intimately cozy, and has a neighborhood vibe to it. At m. henry’s you’ll find that there is something here for everyone. When possible the restaurant uses locally grown and organic products, and they have plenty of healthy and vegetarian options. Just like the quality of the food, the preparation of the dishes are top-notch and look too good to eat…well not quite, that’s what camera phones are for.
